Each September, MHAAO hosts The Glow Up with our community partners to help individuals look and feel their best on their recovery journey. September is Recovery Month, which celebrates the gains made by individuals in recovery from mental health and addiction/substance use challenges. The Glow Up will provide a space for community members to come together in celebration of recovery in all its forms and manifestations.
This year, we had the joy of hosting The Glow Up at Summit Salon Academy. A day of self-care and pampering for 27 amazing peers we serve. We were honored to celebrate each person's unique recovery journey by offering a truly personalized, full-service experience! From haircuts and color treatments to facials, make-up, personal clothing styling, and professional headshots, our incredible volunteers made sure our peers left with lasting memories.
We want to give a HUGE thank you to the incredible volunteers and local businesses that made this day possible. A special shout-out to Summit Salon Academy for generously offering their beautiful space! We’d like to thank our volunteer hair stylists, estheticians, make-up artists, Summit Salon students, and photographers for their time and energy!
