Peerpocalypse 2024 is headed to Seaside, Oregon, in May 2023. Whether you’ve been to all 10 conferences or this is your first time, you probably have a question or two. We’ve done our best to answer the most common questions below. Just click or tap on your question.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Peerpocalypse is an annual conference of leaders, emerging leaders, innovators, and peers who want to become more involved in the peer community. It is hosted by MHAAO and rooted in the belief that peers bring with them a great deal of knowledge and expertise. The event is about bringing the peer community together to share information, skills, and experience.

  • The 11th annual Peerpocalypse is a four-day conference from Monday, May 6th through Thursday, May 9th, 2024. Conference sessions are generally held from 9am - 5pm with optional evening meetings and in-person activities.

  • The 2024 conference will be our 3rd year as a hybrid event (both in-person and virtual). In-person portions of the conference will be held in Seaside, Oregon at the Seaside Convention Center, 415 1st Ave, Seaside, OR 97138. Virtual access will be offered through the Whova app. 

  • Whova is the online platform (app and desktop) that MHAAO is using to streamline access to our hybrid conference. The app will enable “contactless” check in, host all the live-streamed workshops, provide real-time session schedules, communicate conference announcements, and offers networking functions for in-person and virtual “meet up” opportunities. Both in person and virtual attendees are encouraged to use the app for the duration of the conference. 
    Whova is now open! If you registered, you will have received an email with the download link and the password for the event. Make sure to log in using the email you registered with.

  • In-Person registration is SOLD OUT! Register for Virtual Attendance!

    Registration for Virtual attendees is $250.

  • All registered participants will have access to over 40 workshop options, 4 keynote speakers, virtual small group “meet-ups”, the exhibit hall, and will receive a name badge, digital program, and t-shirt. In-person attendees will also have access to the Peerpocalypse’s Got Talent, the Mad Hatter Dance, and will receive complimentary meals. All participants are able to acquire up to 21 CEUs with viewing recordings.

  • Some meals will be provided at the Seaside Convention Center as part of your registration. See the 2024 Peerpocalypse Schedule to see the meal breakdown.

    Additionally, many of the local hotels also provide complimentary breakfast for guests.

  • This year, Peerpocalypse workshops will revolve around Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in the peer support space. All workshops will fall under one or more of the following subcategories:

    • Policy and Justice

    • Organizational, Program, and Leadership Development

    • Health & Wellness

    • Diversity & Inclusion in the peer workforce

    • Trailblazing Models and Programs

  • Yes! MHAAO is approved to offer CEUs to those who attend in person or virtual workshops. Be sure to track all your workshops and hours and submit them at the end of the conference here to receive your certificate. Workshops are recorded and will be available for viewing up to one month after the conference. By viewing recordings, you can earn up to 21 CEUs! 

    Your CEUs are issued for the Traditional Health Worker (THW) Program through the Office of Equity and Inclusion at the Oregon Health Authority, the Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO), Mental Health America National, and the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC).

  • Scholarships for the 2024 Peerpocalypse Conference have CLOSED.

  • Peerpocalypse is not just about education and tough conversations; it's also about having fun and making connections! This year’s conference will feature an in-person AND a virtual Perpocalypse Got Talent show open to participants to show off their skills! Bring your music, poetry, and laughter. We will also have our annual Mad Hatter Dance Party, also in-person and virtual, featuring a professional Portland DJ…and don't forget to bring your hat! We welcome hats of all different shapes, sizes, and personalities for this dance. And in between the fun, “hang out” with like-minded participants through the WHOVA app and in person.

  • We’re back in beautiful Seaside! There’s nothing like the Oregon Coast. During your time at the conference, we welcome you to explore the beach and local attractions such as the famous Seaside Aquarium, FunLand Tilt a Whirl and bumper cars, restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping. There's even a hat store!

  • MHAAO welcomes any request for accommodation. Accommodations may include but are not limited to dietary restrictions, building access, large print programs, and sensory-sensitive spaces. MHAAO is sensory-inclusive certified and works to create acceptance and inclusion for all. Please contact us directly for more information or special requests at peerpocalypse@mhaoforegon.org. 

  • This year’s conference will feature a Wellness Room in collaboration with Kulture City; a room where conference participants can step away from the interactive presentations and crowds, and find safety in a quieter space. The Wellness Room will feature sensory-inclusive lighting, seating, noise-canceling headphones, fidget toys, and modeling clay/sand. Registrants are welcome to visit the conference anytime during conference hours. 

  • Children of registrants are welcome to join alongside their parent/guardian so long as they do not disrupt conference presentations and activities. Parents/guardians are responsible for the behavior and safety of their children while they are at Peerpocalypse and on the Seaside Convention Center property. A Kids Room will be available. Parents/Guardians are required to be within sight of their children at all times.
