Molly Griggs, PSS, CRM
Peer Support Specialist for Washington County CHOICE Model Team
Molly comes to MHAO with a passionate belief in an individual’s ability to recover from almost anything. Molly’s own life experiences have made her particularly familiar with and sympathetic to the barriers faced by those with challenges such as mental health, addiction or criminal involvement.
Molly first encountered recovery in 1985 while in a treatment facility and has an unusually broad cross section of lived experiences allowing her to relate to and meet people where they are. Molly identifies as in recovery in a variety of areas including (and in no particular order) Eating Disorders, Alcoholism/Addiction and Gambling. Molly also has lived experience/recovery with Domestic Violence, DHS and criminal courts and parole/probation involvement.
Additionally, Molly has worked in a variety of industries and positions over the years including many sales/customer service positions, a 12 year career in technical market research and five years owing a small internet/research company employing up to 11 people in Portland Oregon. Between 2003 and 2005 Molly experienced a “perfect storm” of traumatic events that lead to hospitalization, incarceration and subsequent involvement in the criminal justice system. Since 2006 Molly has been on the path of holistic recovery, she is excited to be of service to peers through MHAO.
Molly lives in Washington county with her 80 year old mother, her sons (age 23 and 12), 1 bird, 3 dogs, 3 cats, 12 chickens, and 1 rooster.
